MBN was formed in 1980 to provide lunchtime and evening hospitality to businesses and corporate clients.

We have direct access to over 500 sporting celebrities, speakers, comedians and hosts and our events team have worked with some of the greatest names including Pele, Geoff Hurst, Phil Tufnell, Martin Johnson, Sir Ian Botham, Gazza, Freddie Flintoff, Michael Johnson & Shane Warne to name but a few.

MBN can also help you or your business organise a bespoke event, co-ordinate from start to finish player testimonial events or manage an event on behalf of a charity.

Tom Mercey

Tom Mercey, co owner of Premier Team Promotions Ltd (PTP Ltd), is a disruptive, forward thinking, strategic and project driven individual. Following an early academic life at Dulwich College he continued a passion for rugby with an 11 year professional career with both Saracens, Northampton Saints and England Saxons. Playing in Premiership and European top flight finals he welcomed playing with some world class players in very competitive teams - winning both the Amlin and Premiership Cups in 2014.

A passionate believer in the transferable skills between elite sport and business, Tom continued his studies during his early career and graduated from Birkbeck (University of London) with a First in Business Management. Following the growth of PTP Ltd, he founded the Esports Awards in 2015 and has enjoyed growing this side of our business with a strong team. Tom is ideally placed to help with the most recent extension of PTP’s business with the work it is carrying out with Saracens.

Away from PTP Ltd Tom has a real passion for property and is fortunate enough to work with an exiting portfolio of properties that help to develop his core skills and competencies.

Lucy Wray

Lucy attended North London Collegiate School and has a BA (Hons) in French and Spanish from Bristol University. Lucy has over 15 years experience in the events industry and bought PTP Ltd in 2011. Under the umbrella of PTP Ltd, Lucy and her business partner Tom, own 100% of MBN Events, 100% of UK Investor Show and 66% of Esports Awards. PTP Ltd has grown from 2 to 20 people over the past 6 years whilst remaining profitable with controlled growth.

Lucy and her business partner own and have built all of their own rights and IP and are now considered to be market leaders in their field. PTP Ltd have now taken on the responsibility of all revenue generating activity at Saracens RFC and are relishing the opportunity of driving commercial success at a club which is extremely close to Lucy’s heart. Lucy is on the board of Annabel Karmel Ltd and The Deer Park Hotel. She is also a trustee of two charitable trusts in L’Arbre Vert and The Priory Foundation.

Away from business, Lucy was an International Lacrosse player for 10 years spanning three world cups and captaining the side at the 2013 World Cup. She has two young children.

Tim Hunt

Tim began working in Brand Experience and Consumer Events in the mid ‘90’s, before pursuing a career path aligned to his passion for sport. He was Sponsorship Director at a London based PR agency, working with sponsors of major events, including The Ryder Cup, before moving to work on The Stella Artois Championships at The Queen’s Club in London - one of the iconic events on The ATP World Tour - attaining the position of Commercial & Event Director.

In 2008, Tim joined The European Tour, where he reached the position of Head of Marketing, responsible for growing consumer awareness and engagement for Tour events across the world and The Ryder Cup – one of the biggest events in world sport. Tim’s remit included overseeing all aspects of Marketing, Ticketing, Merchandise & Licensing, Fan Engagement and Research & Consumer Insight.

A focus on maximising the commercial opportunity of key assets, combined with growing consumer engagement, have been critical aspects of Tim’s career to date and the need to drive revenue along with consumer loyalty and advocacy are key criteria by which Tim defines success.

Tim has an Engineering & Business Degree from Birmingham University and has recently moved to Oxfordshire with his wife and two children.
